David Lee Anthony

ANTHONY, DAVID LEE
David Lee Anthony, of Davison, MI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 22, 2023, at the age of 85. He was born in Durand, MI, May 21, 1938 to Arthur F. Anthony and Dorothy Williams Anthony. Mr. Anthony graduated in 1956 from Davison High School and received a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. David married Jean Harvey on August 7, 1965 and just celebrated 58 years together.
Dave was a committed believer in Jesus Christ and a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Lapeer; serving in various roles as Sunday School Superintendent, Awana Director, Administrative/business manager, and jail ministry. Dave started working for the Erickson & Lindstrom Construction Company in July of 1958 and was part owner with Rick Siwek from 1981-1997. As Project Superintendent, he supervised the construction of the Port Huron Plaza Shopping Center 1966-67 and the Genesee Valley Shopping Center 1968-70. His favorite job was the Mott Lake Dam and Stepping Stone Falls '70-'71. He retired in 1997.
In younger years, he enjoyed playing golf and played in multiple golf tournaments. His camera was ever present. He's the one that was always asked to take pictures at an event or family function. In later years he enjoyed mowing and maintaining the landscaping at his home. Dave was an avid University of Michigan fan!
Dave is survived by his wife: Jean Anthony; sons: Matthew (Kimberly) Anthony of Lapeer and Michael (Sandra) Anthony of Davison; grandchildren: Malysa (Alex) Hadland, Bryan (Stephanie) Harris, Lindsey Anthony, Alea, David and Noah Anthony; great-grandchildren: Conner Harris, Bryson Harris, Brynlee Harris and Laynee Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Dorothy Anthony.
Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday, August 24 at First Baptist of Lapeer, 1212 Knollwood St. Dave's funeral service will be 11 AM Friday at First Baptist with dinner to follow immediately after the service. The family will also receive friends Friday at the church from 10-11AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Davison Cemetery on Potter Rd. for family only. In Lieu of Flowers Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Lapeer. Arrangements have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer.
