Fern Lois Glenn

1917 - 2018

Glenn, Fern Lois 1/21/1917 - 9/15/2018 Fern Lois Glenn, age 101, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 15, 2018. She was born on January 21, 1917 in Lapeer County, MI to Mary and William Groner. She graduated from Hurley Hospital School of Nursing in 1938. On April 27, 1946 she married James David Glenn. James and Fern enjoyed spending their time traveling and watching their beloved Detroit Tigers. Fern retired from GM in 1982. Fern was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Flint. When she was 90 years old she moved to Rosehaven Manor in Flint where she built many friendships. She was a very active member of the Rosehaven community for 10 years. Fern is survived by her grandchildren: Kristal (Peter) VerLee, Kevin Glenn, and Amanda Garty; great grandchildren: Brendan VerLee, Ava VerLee; many cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special family friend, Steven League. She was preceded in death by husband, James David Glenn in 1991; son, David James Glenn in 2007. The family would like to give special thanks to Barb LaVigne, Julie Hicks, the staff at Rosehaven Manor, Maple Place Assisted Living, and The Care Team Hospice for showing Fern exceptional love and compassion. A funeral service will be held at 11am Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10am. Interment at Flint Memorial Park.
