Blevins R., Jerry of Flushing, age 80, died Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Anthony Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to The North End Soup Kitchen. Jerry was born in Flint, Michigan on January 12, 1938, the son of John and Eunice (McKinney) Blevins. He married Beverly Crawford in Flint, Michigan on December 11, 1970. She preceded him in death on February 25, 1993. Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Navy for two years. He was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church. Jerry taught in the Flint School District for 35 years, retiring in June of 2000. He is survived by his son, Joseph Blevins of Arlington Heights, Il; daughter, Catherine and husband Timothy Steck of Auburn, IN; grandson, Charles Steck, grandson, Samuel Steck, and granddaughter, Madeline Steck; siblings, Leota Duby, Shirley and A.J. Brabazon, and John and Brenda Blevins.
