Carl Sakkestad Obituary


Carl Sakkestad, 72, of Melbourne Beach passed away on Wednesday February 6, 2013 in Melbourne.

He was a retired Operations Manager at the General Post Office in New York City moving to Brevard County in 2001 from Hazlet, NJ, President of the Board Of Directors of Beachwoods Homeowners Association and a big fan of the 49'ers.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Eileen, sons Robert (Denise), Thomas (Rose) and Sean (Elsie) and a daughter Carleen Ploe, grand- children Erika, Brianna, Angelina, Amber and Sean Sakkestad and Shane and Montana Ploe, brother Robert (Olga) Sakkestad and special nieces Wendy and Jeanie Pudifin.

Calling hours and wake will be held on Friday February 8th 2pm-6pm at Brownlie - Maxwell Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 9th at 10am in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Melbourne Beach.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
