Genevieve Stevens Obituary

GENEVIEVE STEVENS - MELBOURNE - Mrs. Genevieve Stevens, 88, of Melbourne, Florida, died Friday, December 5, 2008, at the Silverado Senior Living Facility in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Stevens was born on January 1, 1920 in the city of Plaquemine, LA. She was a secretary at the New Orleans, LA. Port of Embarkation during World War II and later at the VA both in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. She was also a secretary at the Baton Rouge Vocational Institute. She then became a housewife and was the mother of five children. Survivors include her husband, Patrick Stevens of Melbourne, Florida; sons, Dennis and Michael; daughters, Genevieve Moore, Pamela Rhodes,and Cynthia Shaver; sisters, Agnes Allain and Germaine Hopkins; brothers, Lawrence Granier, Luke Granier, and eight grandchildren. Viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m., with a service to follow immediately at 2 p.m., at Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne, FL. Interment will follow at the Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Florida. Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home in Melbourne, is serving the family, (321) 723-2345. www.brownliemaxwell.com
