Joan C. Cantwell

Joan C. Cantwell passed away on June 6, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 21, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to Andrew and Stella Cronberger. She graduated from Pershing High School and followed with a career in the purchasing department at Ford Motor Co.She met and married her husband Alfred W. "Bud " Cantwell while at Ford. Joan and Bud moved to Merritt Island, FL in 1963 and Joan became a full time homemaker. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bud and her daughter Amy Joella Cantwell, sister Donna Chapman, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son David A. Cantwell.

Joan was active as a bowler and golfer and was a member of Rockledge Country Club. She was active with Brownies and Girl Scouts and was a Rolling Reader to 3rd grade students. She was a Eucharistic Minister at Ascension Catholic Church and a volunteer at the Ascension Thrift Store. She is dearly loved and will be missed by all. Private services at a later date.

Very sad to learn this news. I worked with closely with Joan in my earliest years at Ford, and she was a good teacher. Always thought I might see her and Bud if life ever took me near Cocoa Beach, but that didn't happen. If Bud happens to see this, I want to share with him my deep condolences.
