Joseph Von Waldner Obituary
Mims, FL
Joseph D. Von Waldner passed away on the May 7, 2014 while recovering from a hip injury sustained in a fall.
Joe was the youngest of the dozen children born to Frank and Elise Von Waldner, who along with ten siblings, preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving daughter, Cindy Ann Von Waldner of Mims, Florida; sister Rose Sims of Savannah, Georgia and a host of nieces and nephews.
As a member of Temple Baptist Church in Titusville, Florida he served as a deacon, an usher and unofficial greeter which took on a life of its own. He welcomed members and visitors with a handshake and a choice of hard candies in the other. He was affectionately known as "The Candy Man".
A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Thursday May 15, 2014; 3 p.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 1400 North Washington Avenue, Titusville, Florida. Visitation for friends will Be held one hour prior (2 p.m.) to the Life Celebration at the same location.

Cindy,
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
As an old teacher, I will remind you of the 3-r's.
1. Remember the love, care and fun you had with your Dad.
1. Rejoice in knowing you Dad is in Heaven with the Lord,your Mom and his friends.
3. A reunion is already happening for those who trust in the Lord.
Can't you just see him going through the Pearly Gates, thanking Jesus and then continuing his ministry by introducing himself as the "Candy Man" and handing out candy to everyone he meets?
