Judith Houston Obituary

Judith "Judy" Ann Houston

Cocoa - Judith "Judy" Ann Houston of Cocoa, FI, age 80, passed away on Saturday, 8/7/2021 in Melbourne, FI

Judy was born August 20, 1940 in Washington DC to Noble Henry and Evelyn Glidewell. They resided in the DC area until Judy was 15 years old and then moved to St. Petersburg, FI. Judy graduated from Boca Ciega High School in 1958 where she was a member of the swim team. Following high school, Judy attended the University of Florida for one year and realized that she was not passionate about college and turned her focus to business school where she thrived.

Following business school, Judy returned to Tampa/St. Pete, where she met her future husband, Lang Houston. They were married in 1963 and moved to Tucson, Az where they were stationed in the Air Force. They had two sons, Keith and Kevin, while living in Tucson and moved back to Florida in 1966.

Judy and her husband began managing Crest Cleaners in Cocoa. In 1970 they bought out two Crest Cleaners locations from Judy's parents and over the years grew the business to include up to 11 locations. Judy was in charge of the office/bookkeeping and did a great job. Her longtime accountant, Janson Davis complimented Judy and said she was the best record keeper out of all of his clients.

Judy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the Florida Gators and spent many a Saturday in Gainesville watching football. She enjoyed traveling, getting together with friends and family, shopping and spoiling her 4 granddaughters. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Cocoa and more recently Grace Methodist in Merritt Island.

Judy is survived by her husband, Lang Houston of Cocoa. Her sons Keith (Tammy) and Kevin (Trish) of Merritt Island, and her 4 granddaughters Lauren, Erin, Holly (Jared Watson) and Abby.

Due to the COVID pandemic, a celebration of life gathering will be announced at a later date. For those who wish to make a memorial donation, please consider Grace United Methodist Church at 65 Needle Blvd in Merritt Island. FI. 32953
