Marvin Katz Obituary
Indialantic - Marvin, 91, son of Sam Katz and Molly Grumet, passed away on May 12, 2018. Born in Brooklyn NY on March 1, 1927, he resided and raised his children in Smithtown, NY for 30+ years, before retiring to Indialantic, FL in 2000.
Survived by his children Howard Katz (Anna), Ted Katz, Melanie Doty (Jeff), and Barbra Hurwitz (Steven); grandchildren Sierra, Felicia, Zack, Stacey, and Jason; great grandchildren Madison, Xavier, and Bella; his sister Rene (Weston); and several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ginny; his brothers Leonard,Paul, and Alan; and his granddaughter K.C.
Marvin ran a bakery business named "Marvelous Marvin's Buns" in the Hampton's for several years. He retired in his early 70's and spent his golden years in Florida. Family was everything to him. He had such a positive outlook on life; everything was always " wonderful" and he touched so many lives! The thrill of rolling the dice at the craps table was amongst his favorite memories to reminisce about! Those who knew and loved Marvelous Marv will miss him terribly, but will always keep him and his sayings (coined as "Marvinisms") in their memories.
