Palmer Collins Obituary
Brevard - Palmer Warner Collins passed away suddenly on May 21, 2018.
He is survived by his three children, John (Bruce Schulman), Mark Collins (Kimberly), and Catherine Murtha (Brian) as well as five beloved grandchildren - Donovan and Caiden Collins and Kate, Kelsey, and Sean Murtha. He is pre-deceased by his wife, Marion Panton Collins, parents, Foy and Warner Collins, and his dear sister, Veneta Jean Howe.
He was born on a small farm in Sewee, McMinn County, Tennessee, on June 9, 1930. His family settled in Fort Mead, Florida, where his father pastored the Church of God of Fort Mead. They later settled in West Palm Beach. Palmer attended Palm Beach High School and Anderson College, then served in the Korean War in a medical unit. He later attended the Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, married Marion, and moved to Melbourne. He attended University of Florida Law School and practiced law in Melbourne for many years, finally retiring in 1991
Palmer and his wife Marion were life-long residents of Brevard County. He leaves behind a loving family, and an immense and varied wealth of dear and treasured friends. He was a genuine "Florida Cracker" who touched many lives in his various roles such as attorney, sailor, pilot, and rancher, but most importantly, grandfather.
The family wishes to extend its deep and sincere thanks to the amazing community of friends in Indialantic and elsewhere. Your generous support and love cannot be measured.
There will be a celebration of Palmer's life this Friday, May 25, 2018, at 11:00 AM, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church in Indialantic, to be followed by a reception at the church. The family wishes that in lieu of flowers, you consider making a donation in Palmer's or Marion's name to The Womens Center of Melbourne.

Palmer and his late wife Marion were close friends with my family as our children were growing up. His energy and enthusiasm enriched our family for decades. When I learned of his passing, my first thought was that our personal world is now an emptier place than it was.

Palmer was a great and faithful friend who built my house, bolstered my faith in humanity, took me sailing and flying, inspired my children and just generally lit up my life.
