Our Dearest Uncle Bob (My Beloved Godfather)... There are many people who touch our lives, but some who impact it in such a way, they inspire others to view life differently; more positively. This was you, Uncle Bob! Whenever you were asked if you needed or wanted anything, you would simply reply with a gentle smile, "Just a kind word!". When my father was supposed to be my son´s sponsor for his confirmation, but passed away just months before, you came up to represent my father for him. You and my father could have passed as twins, actually, it´s usually easy to spot any relative of the Rhoads family, you all look so much alike. You and my dad were close. You even went to Cornell together and both died at the same age. In fact, when my dad passed, it was a comfort to have you. You didn´t hesitate to lend a hand wherever you could and always possessed patience and kindness. Your tender heart and jokester ways, along with sounding and acting exactly like my dad, seemed to ease the heartache of loosing my father. Our family has always been a close, loving family and my heart breaks that you are no longer here with us on earth. You were a gentle soul who was truly loved by everyone you met. Nothing meant more to you than family. You were nicknamed "Robin", and the day you died, a robin sat and stared at us as if you were saying, I love you and I haven´t flown far away. You didn´t want any ceremonies, for that was not your way. Your joy never came from being recognized for all you did, it came from the smiles you brought to others every day. Some people have a heart so big, a body is too confining, so God frees them from it so their love can keep shining. Though you´re no longer "just a phone call away", we will never let your memory fade. We will love you forever! Rest In Peace Dearest Uncle Bob!

Rob was a great guy and a real professional. He always went the second mile and was really a softy at heart. I enjoyed our conversations when we worked together. To his family-May God grant you peace and comfort during this time. Hold on to the good memories.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. Rob would always joke with me whenever I went to the Panther Dining Hall to buy his motorcycle(Indian)when he knew that I was afraid to ride motorcycles.
