Robert Seemer Obituary

Robert Martin Seemer passed away at 11:00 p.m., December 19, 2011. He was 85 years old. He was born August 31, 1926 in Penn Yan, New York to Clarence and Delphine Seemer. One of seven children, he grew up in Elmira, New York where he excelled in sports, particularly baseball. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Bad Hamburg, Germany where he met and married Maria Doerr. At the end of World War II, they returned to the United States to begin a new life together.

In 1947, he and Maria relocated to Seattle, Washington where he began a 42 year career with the Boeing Company. Assignments included facilities, manufacturing, and transportation management in the Aerospace, Technology and Airplane divisions in Washington, California, Louisiana and Florida. He first came to Brevard in 1960 returning to Seattle in 1977. Upon retirement in 1990, he and Maria returned to Brevard, living in Suntree, enjoying golf, bridge, and their diverse, extended family and many close friends.

He is survived by his wife, Maria; his sons, Bob (Maria Mogollon) of Rockledge, Stephen of New York City, and Jon (Debbie Nicklin) of Marianna; five grandchildren, Robert, Will, Kathleen, Jack, and Jon; and Beverly, his surviving sister, of Owego, New York.

He was a good man, husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
