Shayne Charles "BDS" Solomon, 21, died in Grand Island, NE on Monday, July 13, 2015. His death was sudden and tragic. Born on December 29, 1993, in Mount Hope, Trinidad, to parents Sean Solomon and Sandra Modeste, he grew up in Melbourne/Palm Bay, FL. He will always be loving brother and friend to Shannon and Sam Solomon and larger than life uncle to Alijah Saunders.
He excelled in academics and sports throughout his school career: was a member of Johnson Middle School STARS program, played baseball, football and basketball for Viera High School, was a member of the Vermont Technical College freshman basketball squad, was an umpire and assistant coach for the Suntree/Viera Little League and was a part of the Discover Life Church family.
Shayne's mischievous humor, compassion, and desire to bless others made him a beloved friend, sought after companion and favored coach to the young athletes he mentored.
He is survived by his parents, siblings and nephew; grandparents Aubert and Cynthia Modeste; a family of uncles, aunts, and cousins too large to name, and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents Horace and Sylvia Modeste, Pantaleon Hernandez, grandparents Hugh and Patricia Solomon, uncles David, Charles and Eric and cousin Dwane.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Shayne Solomon on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at 4 PM, at Discover Life Church 3550 Eau Gallie Blvd in Melbourne.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Shayne the last year and he could always make you smile. He cared for his family and always talked about you and his nephew. He is greatly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Shayne's passing. Shayne was in my homeroom class at Suntree Elementary during his 6th grade year. I remember his handsome face and what a polite, charming, and intelligent young man he was. May God comfort you and give you peace knowing that Shayne is in a better place than this world. Prayers and peace to your family.
