William Montgomery Obituary

WILLIAM MONTGOMERY LOUISVILLE, KY William Augustine Montgomery, 87, formerly of Melbourne, died on Sunday, March 5, 2006, in Louisville, KY, where he had moved in 2005 after having lived for 35 years in Florida, the last 10 years at the Indian River Colony Club in Melbourne, FL. Bill was born on October 26, 1918 in Cambridge, MA. He was a 1939 graduate of Massa chusetts Maritime Academy, retired as a captain in the U.S. Coast Guard, served in the U.S. Navy, a World War II veteran, and a captain of commercial sea vessels, including the U.S. Lines. He was an avid fisher man, boater and wood carver. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Kathleen Sharp; two daughters, Barbara Montgomery Adams (James) of Louisville KY and Diane Miragliotta (John) of Odessa, FL; a sister, Janet Farrand (Carroll) of Sarasota, FL; and six grandchildren, Bryan Cornell, Allison Cornell and Mark Miragliotta, all of Odessa and Samuel Adams, Kathleen Adams and Clair Adams, all of Louisville.
