Myrtle Bates, 75, of Wayland, passed away at her residence on Monday, June 19.
Bates was born to the late Harvey and Oma Thornsberry Johnson on May 17, 1942. She was married to the late Charles Dean Bates and was a homemaker.
She was survived by one son, two daughters, four brothers, five sisters and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son and six siblings.
Services were Thursday, June 22 at Nelson Frazier Funeral Home in Martin.
