CRAIG BURLESON
Craig Burleson of Palouse, Washington passed away September 20, 2014 at the age of 57. He was born December 1956 in Pullman, Washington to Helen and John Burleson. He was the older of two children. His father passed away when Craig was 16 and his Mom later married Justin Haeder who was a great stepfather to Craig. Craig grew up in Moscow and Pullman. He graduated from Moscow High School in 1975.
Craig started working as a box boy for Rosauers when he was 16. He later went to college in Billings, Montana, but the school burned down after 1 semester, so he headed back to Moscow where he got a job working at Rosauers again. Craig was a hard worker and great employee for Rosauers so it wasn't a surprise to the people who knew him when they offered him a job as store manager in Richland, Washington. He later moved back to Pullman to manage Rosauers (which later changed to Excell) in Pullman. Craig left Excell and took on a distributorship for Sunbelt/Little Debbie's which he worked for 17 years. He became known in the quad cities as the "Little Debbie's man".
Craig married Linda Duley in September of 1981 and they have two sons, Marcus and Chase. They later divorced. In 1989 Craig met the love of his life, Monica Spangler, and they were married April 26, 1997. Craig embraced and adopted Monica's daughter, Kati as his own and the two families combined.
Craig loved spending time with his family, traveling and boating. He had a passion for cars and enjoyed having a "luster fest" with his boys and/or good buddies. Craig never met a stranger and could always be heard throughout the stores where he worked laughing or talking with customers and store employees. His family and friends loved his sayings (which they called "Craigisms") and are still using them today.
Craig is survived by his wife Monica, his two sons Marcus (Krystle) and Chase, his daughter Kati (Jeff) Webb, his two beautiful grandsons Landyn and Leavan, his stepfather Justin Haeder, his brother-in-law and best friend Jeff (Evonn) Spangler, brother-in-law Russell (KO) Spangler, sister-in-law Leslie (Dale) Nichols, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Helen, father John, sister Cindy Short and grandmother Lula Brown.
A service will be held Saturday September 27th at the Palouse Federated Church in Palouse, Washington at 11 AM. A "Thanksgiving themed" potluck will follow in the attached meeting hall where folks are welcome to share their stories and to celebrate Craig's life.
Craig's family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Bishop Place Enhanced Care Unit for providing such loving care to Craig and his family.

To Those I Love And Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, Be thankful for our beautiful years.
I gave you my love. You can only guess How much you gave me in happiness. I thank you for the love you have shown But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust. It's only for a time that we must part. So bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on, And if you need me, call and I will come.Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near, And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear, All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone I'll greet you with a smile and say, "Welcome Home"
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2014 at 11:00am at Events at Sunset in Richland, 915 Bypass Hwy.
