Assunta Turri Obituary
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday (August 29) followed by a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with The Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165 or to the Friendly Home, 3156 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14610.
Santa was born in Seneca Falls, N.Y. on April 6, 1919, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Caroline Lippa Faiola. She had resided in Seneca Falls on Mynderse Street for most of her life before moving to Rochester in 2009. She had been employed by the medical office of David Koch MD years back as a medical assistant for over 20 years. She also had worked as Surrogate Court Clerk of Seneca County. Santa was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Seneca Falls and the S.M.S. Auxiliary of which she was the oldest living member. Santa, loved to prepare home cooked meals on Sundays and holidays for her immediate and extended family. Perhaps, she was proudest of her love and devotion to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Angela (William) Dundon, Henderson, Nevada; three sons William (Linda) Turri, Rochester, N.Y., Joseph (Kathryn) Turri, Rochester, N.Y., Louis (Julie) Turri, Seneca Falls, N.Y.; eight grandchildren Joseph, Jackie, Steven, Jennifer, Jeff, Matt, Michael, and Caroline; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters Agnes (Angelo) Bonafiglia, Seneca Falls, N.Y., Mary Southerland, Seneca Falls, N.Y., Philomena (Wally) Winter, Ohio; three brothers Sylvester (Elisa) Faiola, Seneca Falls, N.Y., Benny (Ann) Faiola, Seneca Falls, N.Y., Louis (Mary Lynn) Faiola, Florida.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews of which many were like her own children or grandchildren; a special thanks to niece Linda Faiola, whose weekly visits helped maintain her love for Seneca Falls.
In addition to her parents, Santa was predeceased by her husband, Louis "Gigi" A. Turri Sr., who died in 1978. She also was predeceased by one sister, Rose Faiola and three brothers Anthony, Michael, and Kenneth Faiola.

What a gracious lady who will be missed by all of her family and the many friends she had and the many people who Santa worked with. She was there for everyone no matter what. It was a pleasure to have know her.

Another member of the Greatest Generation is gone. Santa helped raise her siblings, then raised her own children after her husband's death. She was an admirable woman whose love of her children knew no bounds. Rest in peace Santa.
