When I think of Barb, I always picture her with a happy smile on her face. I have wonderful memories of her and will never forget how she always welcomed me in her home and made me feel like part of the family.

Dearest Joan, Caroline and All the others in the Millis family: We were saddened to hear of your Mom?s passing when Jennifer called the other day. As Dennis and I reminisced, we again felt the warmth of her smiles and her joyful laugh. She was always truly radiant, and Dennis said it best when he said she was a great Mom and her children reflected her lovely personality. May God bless and Comfort you all. With love from Jen?s Mom and Dad.

There was no one like Barb. There are people you meet who change the direction of your life. Barb was one of those people for me. I hope her family knows that her reach was great, maybe more than they will ever know.

Like those before me on this post, I am having a hard time putting my feelings into words. Barb was such a special person. Whenever I went home to Geneva I wanted/needed to see Mom and Dad’s friends as much as mine. They know me better than anyone, they were my past, my history, my life, and Barb was always there at the head of that parade.
I have so many amazing memories of Barb, some of which should probably not be immortalized on the internet, like going to the movies with the Barbara’s; Millis, Hennessy and of course my favorite, Carragher. You haven’t lived until you’ve experienced a sexy movie with the Barb’s.
Barb and my Dad always thought that the “gang” should have a compound when they got older so they could all be together and never be alone. Their idea never came to fruition, but they are together now and I am sure, are creating havoc up there as they did here. And giving joy to all who know them. We are all blessed for having Barb in our lives.
My thoughts, prayers and love are with you all.

I don’t know what to say except she will be missed immensely. Her laugh, her smile, and her wit are unforgettable. I feel blessed to have had her and Art as my Godparents. I could not have asked for a better pair. To all of the Millis kids…God blessed you with wonderful parents and may he bless you again at this time of sorrow.

They say that a mother can never be replaced....I believe that is true. Barbara though came as close to filling that void for me as anyone ever could have. I will miss her drive, determination, and discussions. She was so accomplished on many levels and touched so many people's lives. Through hardship and true heartbreak she pushed on always with a smile and a laugh. Her best advice..."Buck up!"has carried us all through many hard times. I will miss the glint in her eye and the sound of her laugh. She always would say to me...."Jean, I'm so glad you can have this!" I say back to her now..."Barb, I'm so glad that I had you!" Thank you to her family immediate and extended, for sharing her so effortlessly with me, for that I am eternally grateful. I loved her with my whole heart and will miss her with my entire being. I will anxiously await the spring where she will meet me again with my own mother, in the garden with the shastas, black-eyed susans, butterfies, and hummingbird! Love to you all......

To Brab's family, my condolenses. Barb was indeed a professional real estate broker, she enjoyed talking about her properites, but she also listened. Many times she came to my office to get property info and discuss property values. I knew Barb the 25 years I was the Assessor for the City of Geneva, enjoyed her smile and laugh, even if we didn't always agree (we did more often than not). John Lynch, retired assessor.

To the entire extended Millis family, It is so hard to acknowledge that Barb has passed. There are really no words, or then again, enough words to describe the absolutely total person that she was. Wonderful, loving Mom, a great friend, smart business woman. We enjoyed her company so much. Just talking with her was always such a good, fun time. Her parties were the best! Always so many people from all areas of her life just getting together. Hard to believe that we won't answer the phone again to"Barb Millis here". She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
