GENEVA/BALLSTON SPA - Barbara Ann Moore, 76, of Ballston Spa, N.Y., passed away peacefully at Albany Medical Hospital following a brief illness.
There will be no prior calling hours. A Graveside Service will be held at Sand Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family on a date and time to be announced.
Barbara was born on November 21, 1948, in Geneva, the daughter of the late James and Ruth Allen Moore. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1966. The subsequent year, she completed her education at Marion Whelan School of Nursing, earning her LPN. She later obtained her Bachelor's degree in Nursing from Utica College. Additionally, Barb attended and worked at Duke University, where she dedicated several years to the nursing profession.
Barbara lived for a short time in Utica, N.Y., and Saratoga, N.Y., before making her home in Ballston Spa, N.Y. After several years in various hospitals and nursing homes, she transitioned to a career with pharmaceutical companies. Barbara began her tenure at Coromed, Inc. in Rensselaer, N.Y., collaborating with several Pharmaceuticals and BioPharm companies to conduct clinical drug research studies for submission to the FDA for approval. In addition to her strong passion for her work, these research studies allowed her to travel extensively across the country. After departing from Coromed, she continued her research career as a contractor with several other companies until her retirement.
Barbara forged her own unique path in life, forming friendships with many individuals. As the song suggests, Barb truly did it her way.
Those who knew Barb recognized her profound passion for animals. She was a committed advocate for animal rights and, over the years, adopted numerous abused animals, providing them with the love and care they desperately needed.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Grace Moore; her nephew, Bruce (Amanda) Moore, Jr. of Geneva; her great-nephew, Nicholas Luongo of Geneva; her great-niece, Hailey Luongo of Geneva; her great-nephew, Collin Moore of Geneva; and her nephew-in-law, Jeff Luongo of Geneva.
