Betty Jensen Obituary

WATERLOO - Our beloved mother, Betty M. Jensen, entered into God's Kingdom on January 2, 2025, after a brief illness.

Betty was born April 15, 1925, in Milton, Pa., the daughter of the late Norman L. and Anna V. (McCollum) Farley. Betty was raised by her mother Anna, and stepfather, Claude VanGelder. Betty attended school in a one room schoolhouse where she actually did walk through all kinds of weather to get there and back. Betty was a stay at home mother until her youngest was in high school, then she worked for a time at the Geneva Laundromat then for the Seneca Army Depot in Romulus for the Recreation Department.

Betty was 19 when she married her only love, George P. Jensen, and they were married for 49 years before George passed. They had three children, George, Marsha, and Virginia. Her children were her proudest achievements, as were her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Betty loved to cook and garden, never drove, but lived a long, and full life, surviving all her friends and family of her generation. There never was a person that met our mother that didn't love her. She was the kindest, most loving woman you would ever meet.

Betty was a loyal servant to God, first and foremost, loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible.

Betty is survived by her children, George Jensen of Waterloo, Marsha Jensen of Waterloo, Virginia (John) Lincoln of Romulus; grandchildren, Alan (Angela) Jensen of Branchport, Billie Jo (Kareem) Fleming of Binghamton, Brian (Wilma) Jensen of Waterloo, Michael Coble of Romulus; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; as well as several nephews and nieces.

Betty was pre-deceased by both her parents, and stepfather, her husband George, grandson Robert Jensen, great grandson Austin Jensen, her brother Harold Farley, sisters Helen Shafer, and Isabelle McCloud, and numerous nephews and nieces. Betty was also pre-deceased by her beloved stepbrother Earl VanGelder, who she loved more than life itself.

Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, January 8, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at the Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia Street, Waterloo. A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home, Thursday, at 10:00 a.m.. Burial will follow in the Mount Green Cemetery, Romulus.

A small reception will follow at the Romulus Fire Department to celebrate the life of this beautiful angel.
