Burnard Hurrin Obituary
Friends may call at Fuller Funeral Home, 190 Buffalo St., Canandaigua on Saturday (August 22) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Graveside services will be held at the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Monday (August 24).
It has been suggested that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1 DiPronio Dr., Waterloo, N.Y. 13165 or to the Seneca Castle Fire Department, 2028 County Rd., Seneca Castle, N.Y. 14547.
Butch was born in Canandaigua on October 4, 1936, to the late Ivan and Ruth Marshall Hurrin. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961. He Captained a shrimp boat based in Key West and fished the Gulf of Mexico waters for a number of years. He was a self-employed carpet installer for many of the area carpet dealers and had been a member of the Seneca Castle Fire Department where he was well known for his cooking skills. Many will remember Butch as the bass fiddle player with Bristol Mountain Bluegrass.
He is survived by his children, Debra (Greg) Maines of Johnstown, R.I., Michael (Brenda) Hurrin of Seneca Castle and Steven (Kelly) Hurrin of Palmyra; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Betty King of Canandaigua.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, in 2012.
