Carl Craig Obituary

WATERLOO – Carl ""Corky"" L. Craig, Jr., 64, of Waterloo, N.Y., he passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his home Wednesday (December 14, 2022).

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday (January 14, 2023) at Coe-Genung Funeral Home in Waterloo, N.Y. The memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday (January 14, 2023) at the funeral home. Rev. William Dorow, pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church, will officiate. The celebration of life will follow at 2 p.m. at the North Seneca Sportsman's Club, 334 NY 318, Phelps, N.Y.

Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, NY.

Carl was born March 7, 1958, in Newark, N.Y. In the early 1980s he was employed with San Juan Guide Rail Co. until Elderlee purchased the company. In 1998, he started working for Seneca Meadows where he was employed for many years, until his retirement. Then later he was employed with Lowes. Carl was a life member of North Seneca Sportsman's Club, South Seneca Sportsman's Club, and the Buckhorn Sportsman's Club. He was also a member of the Rifle and Gun Association of Lyons, N.Y. Carl was a member of the Finger Lakes Family Moose Club. Carl's ""happy place"" was Junius Ponds Cabins and Campground.

He is survived by his loving companion, Laura Shannon; children, Alissa (Aaron) Youngs and Kyle (Liz Ake) Craig both of Waterloo, N.Y.; stepdaughters, Emma Shannon of Waterloo, N.Y. and Isabella Shannon of Canandaigua, N.Y.; stepson, Billy (Heidi) Poormon of Phelps, N.Y.; grandchildren, Jordan and Carter Peterson, Levi, Payton, and Matthew Youngs; step-grandchildren Amarea and Egypt, Derek and Paige; siblings Michael (Kim) Craig of Waterloo, N.Y., Keith Craig of Clyde, N.Y., and Tammy (Brian Cady) Fischer of Waterloo, N.Y.; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Carl was predeceased by his father, Carl L. Craig, Sr.; and his second wife, Karen Craig.
