On this cold and wintery day, after the very fine service for Dave, I think of how proud he would be of his family and friends. As I walked to my car after enjoying the very special meal that followed the service the snow was falling and my thoughts were of how the fellowship of the day would be with me the rest of my life.

I will miss Dave skulking around the building - he was always smiling - how heartbreaking that he passed away so quickly - I won't forget you, for sure.

I do not think my brother had any idea how many people he touched. He always underestimated himself. For 61 years he shared memories with me of our childhood. Now I share them with no one on that personal level. He was the baby brother that I mothered, worried about and drove crazy. Losing ones that began life witj you makes you see how really little time with have with relationships. Their are no magic words to change the events in ones life because time marches on regardless of the pain. The fact so many people will remember him is a testimony to a life well lived. I can not speak for all he left behind but I speak as his sister. David I loved you and still will for the rest of my life. I will forever look for you in your wife Jan and Laurens memories. I will hold dear what we shared. Then as I close my eyes for the final time I will pray your spirit will greet me again.

I also was a classmate in high school with Dave. I will always remember his laugh and the good times we had. As I have been reading the comments of others it is easy to see the many lives he touched. To his wife and daughter my thoughts are with you and I know the world is a better place for Dave having been part of it. Alan Christensen Penn Yan

So sorry for your loss Jan and Lauren. I remember David as an upper classman. He always seemed like a quiet man. Didn't know where he went after school, but found out many years later that he married a fellow stamper of mine, Jan. I know right now you are hurting, but the memories that you shared will never be far from your thoughts. Find comfort in your memories. I'm praying for your family.

Annie and I are deeply saddened. We were close friends with Jan & Dave in Rochester many years ago. But moving out of state caused us to lose touch. Our prayers are with the family. We have been pulling up old pictures and sharing memories of Dave.

Jan and Lauren we are so sorry for your loss. We didn't know David well. He hijacked Jan away from home and there you stayed to have a beautiful daughter and life. I know that he was a good man because he made you happy. Our love and prayers are with you. That seems so small compared to the grief you are experiencing. We love you.
