Born in North Rose, N.Y. on November 17, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Mary Catherine (O'Brien) and Charles Drury. She graduated from Cato-Meridian High School and in 1956 married Anthony J. (Tony) Castellano, Sr. and moved to Clyde where they started their family. While busy with four children and many part-time jobs over the years, her passion was community service.

Doris was active in several community and school organizations. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (Clyde), including being a past president of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member and past president of the Clyde Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. In 1998, after 20 years of service, she retired from Parker Hannifin in Clyde, N.Y. and with Tony, joined the local senior citizen groups, 60 Plus in Clyde and, serving as president, the Silver Stars in Savannah, N.Y. She organized trips and activities for the groups and especially enjoyed the casino trips. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, always enthusiastically attending and supporting their interests and activities. She showed them unconditional love and taught them the importance of family.

Doris is survived by her children, Anthony (Cindy) Castellano, Jr. of Clyde, N.Y., Catherine Covert of Penfield, N.Y., Michael Castellano and Joann (Timothy) Carr, all of Spencerport, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and James Darnell, Suzi Castellano and Donald Riviello, all of Clyde, N.Y.; brother-in-law, John Brown, Sr. of Reno, Nev.; several nieces, nephews and close friends and her lifelong friend, Betty Jane (Wilson) Berndt of Martville, N.Y.

Doris was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Anthony J. Castellano, Sr.; her five siblings, Mary C. (Drury) Brown, Robert Short, Jr., Charles Drury, Jr., John Joseph Drury and Alfred Drury; her brother-in-law, Thomas Castellano; and sisters-in-law, Emily Drury and Phyllis (Castellano) Riviello.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at ElderOne Silver Hill Center in Newark, N.Y. and the private aides who cared for her at home.

I spent many hours with Doris as her Elder One driver. She had a wonderful sense of humor and she adored her family. I drove Anthony as well. May they finally be together once again.
