Ednamae Hannacker Obituary

GENEVA - Mrs. Ednamae Hannacker, 94, passed away on Saturday (April 16, 2016) in the Living Center North at Geneva.
Friends may call at the DeVaney-Bennett Funeral Home, 181 N. Main St., Geneva, on Wednesday (April 20, 2016) from 10-11 a.m. Funeral Services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. Andy Mitchell, a family friend and pastor of the University Christian Fellowship of Syracuse will officiate. A memorial service for her grandson, Brian Rossiter, who passed away on March 7, 2016, in Florida will follow. Burial will be in Sandhill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions, in her memory, may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 340 Main St., Geneva, NY 14456.
Ednamae was born, December 19, 1921, in Geneva, N.Y., the daughter of the late Alfred and Stella Kimber. She graduated in 1939 from Geneva High School. She worked many places including J. W. Smith, J. C. Penney's and the Village Store. She was a loving mother, sister, and mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend who always put her family first. She was a long time member of the Woman's Club, American Legion and the First United Methodist Church. In 1942 she married Thomas M. Hannacker and was married for 55 years prior to his passing. She loved being with her family and friends and had great pride in her children, grandchildren and her sister and best friend Janice Bonnell who she loved dearly. She had a special love for birthdays and special occasions.
She is survived by her son, Thomas G. (Dorothy) Hannacker of Stanley; her daughter, Wendy (John) Weeman of Geneva; her sister, Janice Bonnell of Liverpool; a dear friend, Virginia McQuillen of Geneva; three grandchildren, Aaron (Amy) Rossiter of Geneva, Krista Hannacker of Syracuse and Shelly Biggs of Naples; eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Chris, Tyler, Nicholas, Kayla, Kylea, Rowan and Brennan; nieces and nephews, Kelly, Neilly, Jack (Mary Lou) Bonnell, Robert ( Sue) Bonnell, and William (Mary Beth) Bonnell and several grand nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas M. Hannacker, in 1997 and her grandson Brian Rossiter in 2016.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the Living Center North, second floor for their loving care and kindness.
