Elisa Faiola Obituary
All services will be held on Tuesday, (December 12), with visitation from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls and a Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St. Interment will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery.
Donations in memory may be made to St. Patrick's Church (Parish Office), 35 Center St., Waterloo, N.Y. 13165 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Elisa was born to Adriano and America (Pluretti) Franceschi. She grew up in Seneca Falls and went on to marry the late Joseph "Peps" Giovannini and the couple had seven children together. Peps passed in 1976 at the age of 49. Elisa was primarily a homemaker while her children were young but once they got a bit older, she took employment with Matthews International in Seneca Falls as a supervisor; a career of over 25 years. It was later that she married the late Sylvester "Sy" Faiola, and the couple shared in over 38 years together. Sy passed away this past April. Elisa found joy in the world around her. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, power walking all over Seneca Falls, was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the SMS Auxiliary, and always enjoyed spending time with her family the most. Elisa was the recipient of the Antonio Varacalli Community Angel Award, and also a founding member of the St. Margaret Mary Club.
Elisa is survived by her sons, Massimo (Rose) and James Giovannini; daughters, Adriene (Daniel) Emmo, Paula Sposito, Lisa (Larry) Kurtz, Victoria (Randy) Lanning; step-daughter, Linda (Tom) Faiola-Jenkins; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Dina (Ronald) Sandroni; and several nieces and nephews and extended family.
In addition to her late husbands, Elisa was predeceased by her daughter, Terry (Bob) Marino; brothers, John and Dino Franceschi; and son-in-law, Emilio Sposito.
