Erna Seppeler Obituary
Erna is predeceased by her parents, August and Helene Gatzke, her brother Meinhart Gatzke, her son Martin Seppeler and her grandson Gregory Seppeler.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Raymond Seppeler; her loving children Daniel (Barbara) Seppeler, Cynthia (Lewis) Carson, Diana (Robert) Dressler, Matthew (Angelyn) Seppeler, William (AnnMarie) Seppeler; her grandchildren Christine, James, Monica, Wesley Desirie, Alexis, Rachel, Michael, Nadine, Nicholas, Noah, Byron, Mara, Emma, Adam, Anna and fifteen great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Lesa Seppeler.
Erna grew up in a close-knit Toledo, Ohio, neighborhood and graduated Valedictorian of her class at Waite High School. She attended The University of Toledo with a focus on childhood education. She married her life companion (Raymond) from that same community. Erna began her career as a secretary in a Toledo law firm and as a substitute teacher. She subsequently supported her husband, Raymond, at SunRad Appliances in Sodus, N.Y. Her deep faith was nurtured throughout her life in the Lutheran Church. She enjoyed singing in both her church and Palmyra Canaltown Chorale. Erna enjoyed gardening, sewing, participating in her local Bridge group, and cheering for her favorite sports teams. However, her greatest love was raising her family and many dogs along her path through life. Erna will be lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and the community she served.
The memorial service for Erna will be held on Saturday, (April 22) at 2 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 102 Hope Ave, Newark, N.Y. 14513 with a reception celebrating her life immediately following.
