Frank requested memorial contributions be directed to a charity of one's choice or Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 101 East Williams Street, Waterloo, NY 13165.
Frank was born February 20, 1939, in Ithaca, N.Y., the son of the late Arthur and Audrey Meeks-Scharett. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a machinist at GTE Sylvania, Tri-Brothers and finally retired from Bordon's Canning Plant, in Lyons. In the middle of all his jobs, he delivered the Post Standard. After his retirement, he and his wife Bernice volunteered many hours at the North Seneca Sportsman's Club, where he also tended bar. Frank enjoyed cheating at Euchre, drinking Utica Club beer, watching NASCAR, football, baseball (Red Sox fan) and listening to country music (the Country Mystics). He was a real jokester.
He is survived by his children Arthur (Theresa), of Geneva, Kenneth (Karen), of Seneca Falls, Frank Alan, of Waterloo, Howard (Peggy) Scharett, of Phelps, Mary (Fred) Fischer, of Waterloo and Daniel (Shirley) Scharett, of N.C.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; a sister, Dorothy Keefer, of Seneca Falls; brothers Bill (Cindy), of Tenn. and Don Scharett, of Geneva.
Frank is preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernice M. Albro-Scharett; a son, Clarence; a grandson, Michael McCann; sisters Ruth Castor, Marion Sachs, Rose Mary Simpson and Bonnie; brothers Paul, Joe, John, Chuck and Arthur Scharett.

An extremely great and happy person, always fun to be around and could put a smile on your face instantly. Frank was a very hard working and devoted husband and proud father and grandfather and great grandfather and the best Uncle I could ever have . I have so many memories but one that will forever be is the hot spoon on the back of my hand at Tom's diner in Geneva and my reflexes sent that coffee cup across the room and of course I was the one who got in trouble with Loraine , oh how we laughed. We spent many hours fishing and doing various activities, I had a great childhood with the Scharett's next door and this matriarch will surely be missed but by far never forgotten. I love you Uncle Frank RIP
