Frederick Jensen Obituary
In addition to his parents Fred was predeceased by his brother Dale who passed away September 16, 2025, and his paternal grandparents Frederick and Christina Jensen.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna L. (Greenfield) Jensen; daughter Heidi L. Jensen-Mullen; son-in-law, Jason Mullen; grandson, Glenn Lawrence Mullen of Lubbock, Texas; sisters Cheryl Jensen and Dawn Jensen, both of Lisbon, N.Y.; brother Alan and sister-in-law, Gale Jensen, of Penn Yan, N.Y.; aunt Berdine Van Sickle; several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with many close friends.
Fred served his country honorably in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was awarded two Purple Hearts, a Bronze Start with a V for valor, and numerous other medals.
Fred was a Press Operator at Garlock in Palmyra, N.Y. and retired in 2011 with 45 years of service. He was a Past Commander and lifetime member of the VFW Post 745 and American Legion Post 355, was a Color Guard member for both, Lifetime member of Penn Yan Moose Lodge #2030 and the Elks Lodge #1722. When Fred was young, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Townsend-Wood & Zinger Funeral Home, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan, N.Y. A funeral service will begin at 6 p.m., with military honors. Following services, all are welcome to celebrate Fred's life at the Penn Yan Legion.
As Fred was a kind caretaker to many beloved pets over the years, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Yates County, 1216 State Route 14A, Penn Yan, N.Y., 14527.

Donna,
Sheila and I are sorry to see Fred leave us. We enjoyed being a part of his "honor guard" team. Found memories of marching in parades and just being able to visit with him at tge Bath VA. He will always be a "True Patriot" in our hearts. Thanks for being his loved one all these years...Diz &Sheila
