George Jerusalem Obituary
George B. Jerusalem, M.D., 77, of Lynn Haven, FL died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at his home.
Born in Ilocos Sur, the Philippines, the son of Aneceto Jerusalem and Petra Blaquera, Dr. Jerusalem lived in Lynn Haven from 1992.
In his early years, Dr. Jerusalem studied medicine at the University of the Philippines and Far Eastern University and did residencies at New York University in New York City and at Hôpital Jean-Talone in Montreal, Canada. During his long career, he practiced psychiatry in Ionia, Michigan, at Florida State Hospital in Chattahoochee, Florida, and at Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar, Tennessee. Most recently, he served geriatric patients in private practice at nursing homes across the Florida panhandle.
Dr. Jerusalem was a member of the Lynn Haven United Methodist Church and an avid fisherman. He leaves his beloved wife of 39 years, Tessie Donato Jerusalem; his son, Jason Jerusalem and his wife Melanie Jerusalem; his stepdaughter, Dianne Keppler and her husband John Keppler, and two grandchildren, Isabelle and Benjamin Keppler.
A funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Lynn Haven United Methodist Church, with Pastor Doug Pennington officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the church.
Pallbearers serving will be Jason Jerusalem, John Keppler, Romeo Donato, Brian Nola, Dr. Luis Zumarraga, and Dr. Roger Gamad.

Tessie Donator Jerusalem & Family: it is just now--AM of 8 Jan.,2014--that I learn about the passing of your husband, who was classmate in FEU School of Medicine. George was a nice and a good man. I for one--together with our classmates--will miss him. Incidentally, I did my fellowship in Pediatric Neurology at McGill University (Montreal Children Hospital) in 1966. May God continue to bless and comfort you and your family. Tessie,
Your beloved husband is the one person who inspired me the most and encouraged me the most during my profession. He was more than a mentor to me. I admired him immensely. Dr. Jerusalem's death is terribly sad but his contributions to medicine were remarkable. He is sorely missed and thought of so much and so fondly. My sincerest condolences to you, Tessie, and your family. It has been an honor to know such a wonderful and dynamic couple.

It was a pleasure to have worked with such a great man. I will miss getting him coffee for our monthly meetings and it will never be the same. My heart goes out to Tess and the family.I know he will be missed.

It was an honor to work with Dr.Jerusalem over the last several years, he was such a joy to be around and was always very dedicated to his patients, and always loved showing off photos of those precious grandbabies to the nurses. Mrs. Tess, you and the family have been in my prayers. I have enjoyed working with Dr. J for all of these years, he was caring and he would listen to staff about the residents. I learned so much from him during all of years he came to Specialty Center. He spoken often of you and the family and he was so proud of everyone.
