Giorgio Ferrini Obituary

SENECA FALLS - Giorgio Ferrini, 92, longtime resident of Seneca Falls, passed at Strong Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday, February 16 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Doran Funeral Home, 4 East Bayard St., Seneca Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 97 West Bayard St., Seneca Falls. Burial to follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery. Donations in memory may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org or to Help Us Give Smiles (HUGS) Foundation at helpusgivesmiles.org.

Giorgio was born in Italy, son of the late Ostilio and Lina (Scapecchi) Ferrini. He grew up in Italy and also spent a few years in Libya before returning to Italy to finish his schooling. On September 21, 1958, at Church of the Most Holy Redeemer and Saint Frances Cabrini in Rome, Italy, Giorgio married Luciana Palladini. The couple have shared a wonderful 66 years together. In 1961, Giorgio came to the United States, settling in Rochester, N.Y. before moving to Seneca Falls. It was here he found employment with Goulds Pumps and later worked for Xylem before retiring after many years.

Giorgio was known for his wonderful smile and his happy demeanor that was infectious to those around him. He liked to dance and entertain, and he was an excellent cook, who prided himself on making many traditional Italian dishes. No matter where he went, he found it easy to make friends and put a smile on others' faces. He was a longtime member of the Italian American Sport Club in Rochester and also at St. Patrick's Church in Seneca Falls.

Giorgio is survived by his beloved bride, Luciana; daughter, Stephanie Ely; son, Anthony (Denise) Ferrini; grandchildren, Ryan Ferrini and Angelina Ely; great-granddaughter, Gabriella Briggs; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family here in the US as well as in Italy. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his father and mother-in-law, Saturno and Antonietta Palladini.
