Hazel Clark Obituary

LYONS/WATEROO - Hazel L. Clark, passed away on June 26, 2022 at the Wayne County Nursing Home & Rehab Center.

Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A committal service will be at the convenience of the family.

The family also ask that you celebrate Hazel's life by donating to your favorite charity.

Hazel celebrated her 100 birthday on February 18, 2022. She was born to Howard and Margaret (Sharp) Derr. She was the stepdaughter of Henry O. Mosher. She graduated in 1940 from Waterloo Central Schools, and married Lewis G. Clark, on April 1943 in Texas.

Hazel worked at the Seneca Falls Machine Company, Skoi Yase School, the Seneca County Clerks Office, and retired from School Pictures in Webster.

For a few years, she was a member of the Tea Timers Home Bureau and taught Sunday school at St. Paul's Church in Waterloo, N.Y. In later years, she and her husband Lewis joined a western round and square - dancing orginization.They danced locally and traveled in their camper to take part with other dancing groups. Hazel was active in the nursing home's resident associated who offered suggestions to the administration. She and her friend Helen, were the 2014 female euchre team champions. She was an avid bingo player and had a stockpile of pennies and quarters to prove her winnings.

She is survived by her son, Richard L. of Zephyrhills, Florida; and daughter, Susan M. of Palmyra.; six grandchildren, Richard (Sue) Clark of Webster, Michael (Michele) Clark of Sodus, Teresa Gregg of Red Creek, Catherine (Steve) Gajan of Newark, Elisabeth Rouse of Geneva and Kristena (Chad) Robbins of Palmyra; 11 great-granchildren, Stephanie, Courtney, McKenzie, Madison, Jared, Jacob, Grace, Tiffani, Andrew, Alycia and Brody; six great-great-grandchildren; and her cat, Lucy in the nursing home.

The family wants to thank all the staff at the Wayne County Nursing Home and Rehab who befriended Hazel and made her stay pleasurable.
