Hazel M. Shoots

FAIRPORT/WATERLOO – Hazel M. Shoots, 92, of Fairport, N.Y., formerly of Waterloo, N.Y., passed away Sunday February 8, 2026 at Highland Hospital, Rochester, N.Y.

In keeping with Hazel's wishes, there will be no calling hours. The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday March 19 at the Coe-Genung Funeral Home, Waterloo, N.Y. Spring burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo, N.Y. Ellen Wooley, will officiate the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Rd., Lyons, N.Y., 14489 or the Waterloo United Methodist Church, 21 E. Williams St., Waterloo, N.Y., 13165.

Hazel was born July 31, 1933, in Waterloo, N.Y., the daughter of Lynn E. And Georgia M. Joseph Schaffer. She was a 1951 graduate of Waterloo Central High School. Hazel went on the further her education at college. She was employed for many years with the USDA in Waterloo, N.Y. While living in Waterloo, Hazel was a member of the Waterloo United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son Stuart Shoots of Macedon, N.Y.; and nephew Terry Kime of Atlanta, GA.

Hazel was predeceased by her husband Franklin G. Shoots and sister Lois Kime.
