I first met Helen when she was concerned about saving the 1816 Farmington Quaker Meetinghouse. She never wavered in her belief that the values of equality for all people, represented by this Meetinghouse, were worth sharing with the world, just as Farmington itself sent ripples across the nation in the years before the Civil War. Helen's gentle spirit, combined with unshakeable commitment to Quaker values of simplicity, equality, and justice, along with her awareness of the importance of history for understanding our current world made her a role model for all of us. Thank you, Helen. You will live always in our hearts.
