Almost five years ago I left Waltham to join the Army. I missed out on so many great times with jimmy but over the years his personality never changed. In gradeschool he was always trying all the crazy stunts and proclaim himself to be the greatest. As a young adult he was the life of the party and proclaimed to be the sexiest...my memories of jimmy were always humorous. Jim, when I think of you now I can't do anything other than smile. I know your up there having a great time and with the grace of God we will all be reunited.

"You'll always be the greatest,
I miss you Jim,
Can't wait til that day,
when I see your face again..." -S.C.

Thank you to everyone for your outpouring of love, support and generosity and for sharing this time of sorrow with us. We'd like to thank Brasco Funeral Home for easing the burden of burying our son and we thank Father Copp for the very simple and touching church service he performed. Although our lives will never be the same without Jimmy, sharing your sorrow with us has brought us comfort. I think Jimmy would have felt honored.

Heartfelt Thanks,

The Long Family

Jesus said "Open your eyes Jimmy". Jimmy opened his eyes and saw people kneeling before him and many people coming to mourn him. Jimmy said "but my mother, my father, my sister, my friends, they're grieving and in pain". Jesus said "it is because you brought love, joy and friendship to their lives. Rest easy my brother and you will be reunited with them at the appointed time".

I have never in my life met another person like jimmy he had a certain charisma that touched every one jim ever met. He was my best friend and it is hard for me to remember a time without him i have known him since the fourth grade and he has been the greatest friend i could have had since. He was always ready to help any of his friends from a place to stay to someone to talk to in a tough time. Jimmy was the life of every party and brought tons of joy into this world. I have no idea what i am going to do without you, it has been a privilege to share this life with you and the memories we shared will for ever be with me till we meet again. I Love you man rest in peace brother!

It is so hard to absorb the news about Jimmy and our hearts go out to Susan, John, Christine and all the Long family. We will always remember your frequent visits to our home Jimmy, you were such a big part of our lives that we can’t imagine not seeing you here anymore. Jimmy was always very polite when at our home and always took the time to ask me ( Ryan’s Mom) how my day was going. My fondest memories of Jimmy are summer evenings with Ryan and all their friends on my back deck he would come over with his sister Christine and one could see how protective and close he was to her. Both Jimmy and Christine would always include me in their conversations. Jimmy you will be missed so much by all of our family. Your Buddy Ryan is taking your passing tough and is a mess over this. He has been with all your friends and your sister every night in his apartment in honor of you. Memories of you at our place on Cape Cod celebrating Ryan’s Birthday I remember your Birthday's were only 9 days apart, card games at our house & your love of baseball will always be remembered and of course your warm smile. All our sympathy to The Long Family at such a sad time in their lives. Your in our prayers!

My thoughts and prayers are with family and close friends in this tough time. Jimmy was a great kid and always had a smile on his face. Growing up on the South Side and playing Baseball with him for 10 years plus, really gave me a peak at the kind of person he was. Jimmy you will be missed by many.
