James Vrooman Obituary
Family and friends may call from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday (August 13) at the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department, 39 E. Water St., Waterloo, NY. The memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department. Burial will be in Clifton Springs Cemetery in Clifton Springs, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 513, Waterloo, NY, 13165.
Jim was born April 24, 1947, in Clifton Springs, NY, the son of James S. and Georgo S. Rhodes Vrooman. He was a graduate of the Clifton Springs High School. Jim retired after many years of employment with the Village of Waterloo. He was a life member of the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department. Jim was also a longtime member of the Waterloo Lions Club and the Waterloo Rotary Club. He was an honorary life member of the Warner VanRiper Post 435 Sons of the American Legion. Jim was involved with the Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War reenactment group. Many knew Jim as a classic car enthusiast.
He is survived by his daughters Amy (Tate) Sisson of Waterloo, NY and Jacqueline Vrooman of Seneca Falls, NY; granddaughters Morgan Peters and Jessamine Vrooman; siblings Patricia (Carlo) Lorenzetti of Seneca Falls, NY and David (Judi) Lewis of Newark, NY; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend Maryanna Morrow of Clifton Springs, NY.
Jim was predeceased by his wife Kathleen A. Vrooman; and his parents.
