Janet Cronk Obituary
Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday (Oct. 21) and from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday (Oct. 22) at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 22) at St. Michael's' Church, Liberty St., Penn Yan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home, 655 Liberty St., Penn Yan, 14527.
Janet was born on April 21, 1927, in Penn Yan, the daughter of the late Paul J. and Loretta T. (Scholl) Veneron. Janet was a member of the 1945 graduating class at Penn Yan Academy. She played saxophone in the high school band and was a cheerleader. She worked for Gorton Coy Dress Store, Michael Stern's, Keuka Cleaners, Henderson's Drug Store and Crown Jewelry. She married Donald Frederick Cronk on January 25th, 1947. She was a member of St. Michael's Church in Penn Yan.
Janet is survived by her children: Doug (Marie) Cronk, Gary (Darlene) Cronk, Kevin (Starla Campbell) Cronk, Donna Milliman and Kimberly Hayes; grandchildren: Tricia, Michael, Cronk, Richard and David Cronk, Derek and Daniel Milliman; several great-grandchildren; her sister, Lois (Ejner) Christensen; and her nieces: Suzanne Falvey and Vicki Dornburger.
In addition to her parents, Janet was predeceased by her husband, Donald F. Cronk on October 16, 2001; and her grandson, Alan Cronk in 1992.
