Jean View Obituary
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Brian P. Wolf; two children, Nathan (Samantha) Wolf and Sarah (Michael) Spilatro; four grandchildren, Ryleigh, Garin, Avia and Trent; two sisters, Barbara (Douglas) Roberts and Nancy (Daniel) Wolf; sister-in-law, Mary (Wade) Morse; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jean was born in Lyons and was the daughter of H. Sherman and Frances (Mayeu) Lake. She attended Lyons schools and was a graduate of Lyons Central School, class of 1970. Jean earned her bachelor's degree from Houghton College, class of 1974. She earned her master's degree from SUNY Geneseo. Jean taught at the Perkins Elementary School in Newark for seven years until she started her family and would eventually do substitute teaching. She later taught reading at Geneva Primary School, retiring in 2011.
Jean was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a member of several women's groups. Jean was a proud grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family and beloved grandchildren.
Friends may call Thursday, (May 2), from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Her funeral service will be held Friday, (May 3), at 11 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 100 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Golisano Children's Hospital, 300 E. River Rd. (PO Box 278996) Rochester, N.Y. 14627 or Smile Train, Inc., PO Box 96231, Washington, DC 20090 or First United Methodist Church, 100 N. Main St., Canandaigua, N.Y 14424.
