John Barrett Obituary
Family and friends may call Tuesday (08-07-18) from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Sanderson-Moore Funeral Home, Inc. 32 State St. Seneca Falls. Memorial service will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Terry Fenton of the Bible Baptist Church officiating. Interment with full Military Honors will be at Sampson Veterans Cemetery in Romulus.
Born in Seneca Falls the son of Esley J. and Marjorie Cory Barrett. Bill was a life resident of the area. He served in the U.S. Navy and also the U.S. Army from 1955-1965. He married Arlene Wade in 1969 and they would have celebrated their 48th anniversary in October. Bill was a Master Moulder at Gould Pumps in Seneca Falls for over 36 years. A member of the Kirk Casey American Legion Post #366 in Seneca Falls. A life member of the North Seneca Sportsmen Club. Bill enjoyed hunting in his younger years. He was an avid reader and loved his garden and was a great family man.
Survived by his wife, Arlene; five children stepson, Michael F. Bell, Ca., Kathlene Ann Simmons of Virginia, Jeffrey L. (Joan) Barrett, Geneva, Cherrie J. Deming, Waterloo and Shirley Y. (Brian) VanDemortel also Waterloo; sisters Nancy Davis of Seneca Falls and Shirley (Randy) Swiden of Pa.; six grandchildren Lauren Deming, Ben Deming, Tyler VanDemortel, Holly Barrett, Kaleigh Simmons and Molly Simmons; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by sisters Mable (Charles) Turner and June (Nick) Nicandri; brothers Paul and Esley Barrett.
