Jon Race Obituary
He was born October 19, 1960, in Penn Yan. Jon was loved by many and was a proud business owner of Benton Motors. He was a prominent businessman and had a huge impact on all of Penn Yan. His generosity and laughter were well known to anyone he interacted with and will be forever remembered. Jon leaves behind a large loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Race; three daughters Breonna (Devon) Egresi, Gracie and Elizabeth Race as well as two grandchildren; his parents Merrill and Patty Race; siblings Gary, Mike, Brian, Milt, Val, Tina and all of their spouses along with several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

miss you papa! its been Five years,9 months and 7 days, I'm fourteen know, Freshmen! I've been working really hard, I'm the secretary for class 2028! Mamma is a CNA now, Lizz is doing well too, The dogs are okay but the horses aren't doing too well,I'm doing big brother big sisters, and clubs too! I am doing biomed classes, I want to help others and be a doctor or a parametric .

I was heartbroken to hear of Jon's passing. Jon was so good to my dad, coming to the house to pick up the car for servicing, and dropping it off for him at home. My dad loved Jon, and was thrilled with his final car -- a Buick Century that he drove until he could drive no more. Jon was good and kind to my sister and niece, always helpful and always cheerful. It meant so much to me, being so far away. Jon was always there for them.

I remember working at Coach & Equipment over 30 yrs ago. I didn't have a car, and Jon would always drive me home at midnight. It was out of his way, but he still did it. I'll never forget his gesture of friendship. He always made me laugh. Now I'm a nurse and know his daughter Breonna. I see you in her. Wow, how time flies. Never take a minute of life for granted. Rest in piece Jon. I'm sure you are making everyone smile in Heaven.

Words cannot express how deeply this wonderful man will be missed by our community. He was such a hard worker and had the deepest love for you all, and then his pride in his grand children- wow! He was so proud of you all. He always had a story and a smile for his customers and believed in true customer service. The shock of his passing is so hard to take. So sad to hear about Jon's unexpected passing. To all of my cousins, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family members. Just goes to show how much we take things for granted.
