Joseph Bates Obituary
Family and friends are invited to gather for a celebration of his life, where a catered lunch will be served, on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mull Funeral Home, 113 Virginia St., Waterloo.
Born Oct. 29, 1966, in Tooele, Utah, Joe built a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and service. He was employed with Just Solutions in Perinton, a telecommunications company, and was known for his dedication to his work and colleagues. A passionate Buffalo Bills fan, Joe's enthusiasm for his team was matched only by his commitment to his community as a volunteer fireman.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Tammy (Gillespie) Bates; daughters, Jessica and Jordan Bates; mother-in-law, Sharon Gillespie; his cherished dogs, Milo and Winchester; and grand-dogs, Hercules and Gus. He also leaves behind several sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom will carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his uncles, Robert and Clair Bates; father-in-law, Jesse Gillespie; and his beloved dogs, Pal, Sammy, and Lucy.
