ROCHESTER/SENECA FALLS - Joseph D. Sinicropi, 83, of Rochester and formerly of Seneca Falls, passed away with his family by his side, at Journey Home in Greece on Wednesday (August 10, 2022).

Joe was born in Seneca Falls, N.Y., the son of the late Dominick and Mary (DiDona) Sinicropi. He attended Mynderse Academy and graduated with the class of 1956. Upon graduation, Joe joined the US Navy and served his country proudly. On December 20, 1958 he married the former Maryellen Bishop at St. Patrick's Church, and the two have shared in over 63 years together. The couple moved from Seneca Falls to the Rochester area in 1959.

Joe was a man with many interests and talents. In his youth he enjoyed being outdoors and archery hunting as well as disco dancing. Later in life he enjoyed various forms of Art including American paintings and artists as well as the game of golf. Joe was an avid golfer who not only studied golf, but he also liked teaching the game to others. Something that he found great pride in was his students that excelled at the game and found as much enjoyment in it as he did. At one point in his golf career Joe was Champion of the Durand Eastman Sr. Golf League.

For many years Joe worked as an automotive wholesaler to the various car dealerships in the Rochester area, and he also maintained a booth and was very involved at The Windmill Farm and Craft Market in Penn Yan. Wherever he went, Joe always made connections with the people he interacted with.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Maryellen Bishop Sinicropi; children, Kelly (Robert) Forst, Dominick (Kim) Sinicropi, Kathleen (Steven Larsen) Sinicropi, Thomas Sinicropi, Kerry (Adam) Papaj and Jason (Stacey) Sinicropi; beloved grandchildren, Nick, Kyle, Joe, Alicia, Paige, Michael, Aidan, Arik, Taylor, Ashley and Ben; four great-grandchildren; brother, Vito (Joyce) Sinicropi; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by two sisters, Josephine Herchak and Marian Bartran.

May god bless you and your family at this time of sorrow. Got to know Joe well . He framed a beautiful antique painting of a ship in rough seas for me. Great guy full of joy and always had a smile. He will be missed by all.
