Josephine Bonventre Obituary

Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother
GENEVA - Josephine "Josie" L. Bonventre, 79, passed away peacefully Sunday (Dec. 6, 2009) at the Living Center at Geneva – South after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
In honoring Josie's wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday (Dec. 9) at the Palmisano Funeral Home Inc., 28 Genesee St., Geneva. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
Contributions may be directed to the Ontario-Yates Hospice, 756 Pre-Emption Road, Geneva 14456, the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road N., Rochester 14609, or a charity of one's choice.
Josie was born Aug. 24, 1930, in Geneva, the daughter of the late Jack and Nellie (Tortoretti) Augustine. She was a passionate homemaker, a devoted mother and grandmother and a kind and caring friend to many. Josie had a keen sense of decorating, which was reflected in her home. She took great pride in her cooking and enjoyed shopping through QVC. Josie was a member of St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Vito Bonventre; son, Michael (Staci) Bonventre; daughter, Lisa (Mark) Rager, all of Geneva; grandchildren, Chelsea and Jordan DeBolt and Isabella and Mariana Bonventre; aunt, Marion Tortoretti; uncle, Albert Tortoretti; sisters-in-law, Joanne Mahoney, Anna Marie Robinson and Mary DeSarro; son-in-law, Steve DeBolt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Josie was predeceased by her daughter, Ann (Bonventre) DeBolt; infant twin granddaughters, Johanna and Nicholle; and brother, Vincent Augustine.

Dear Mr. Bonaventre, Lisa and Mike....I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of Mrs. Bonaventre and I have prayed for your family since I heard of the news. I will always have very fond memories of Mrs. B watching Mike and I play football on Wadsworth Street as she sat on the porch in her favorite chair.
