Kenneth Ovenshire Sr. Obituary
Friends are invited to calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (June 13) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where his funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (June 14) with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, NY 14609-5896.
Kenneth was born in Tennessee May 31, 1938, the son of the late Spencer and Beatrice Ovens Ovenshire. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1957. On April 15, 1961 in Dundee, N.Y. he married the former Charity Beth "Sally" Vedder. She passed away on July 8, 1992. A lifelong area resident, Ken was a Maintenance Supervisor employed by Seneca Foods, in Dundee, NY for 36 years.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth G. Ovenshire, Jr. of Burdett, N.Y.; two granddaughters Bethany Marie Ovenshire and Brooklyn Teresa Ovenshire both of Burdett, in-laws Ben (Joyce) Vedder, Hope Fultz, and Faith 'Haight' (John) McDowell; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife, he was pre-deceased by a brother, Merlin Ovenshire.
