Lois Will Obituary

ONEONTA - Lois C. Will passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2015, in the company of her family.
Lois will be buried in a private service at the Glenwood Cemetery in Geneva.
Contributions in loving memory of Lois can be made to local animal shelters such as the Susquehanna Animal Shelter, 4841 State Highway 28, Cooperstown, N.Y., 13326; Lollypop Farm/Humane Society, 99 Victor Road, Fairport, N.Y., 14450; or the Happy Tails Animal Shelter/Ontario County Humane Society, 2976 County Road 48, Canandaigua, N.Y. 14424.
Lois was born in Geneva, N.Y., in 1920, the daughter of Harry and Dora Breuer Clise. Lois set lofty goals for herself from a young age, earning her Golden Eaglet from Girl Scouts, and honors throughout her student life. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from William Smith and went on to earn her Master's Degree in Agriculture and Life Sciences from Cornell in 1942. She worked in research until the end of World War II, then moved with her husband as he taught science, living briefly in Kentucky and Iowa before settling in Oneonta in 1952. She was an active member of the Faculty Wives at the State University College at Oneonta, where Emery worked in the science and academic advisement departments. She devoted herself to being a supportive wife, loving mother, and skillful homemaker. She cultivated her lifelong interest in learning, and instilled that in her children. She had a green thumb as seen in the beautiful gardens surrounding their home, and could coax any plant to grow. She was an animal lover, who would offer refuge and shelter (and occasional first aid) to the wildlife that traveled through, and spoil the dogs who were fortunate enough to count her in their lives. She was an accomplished baker, who let her sweet tooth guide her as she created her recipes. Cherished memories will include her unconditional love, her wit, her laughter, and her ceaseless encouragement.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Jameson and son-in-law, Gene Loeser; grandsons, Greg Jameson, Matt Loeser, and Dan Loeser; and three great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Carol Clise; many nieces and nephews; and good friends near and far.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Will; her daughter, Barbara Will; her sisters, Elizabeth Franzblau and Hellen Clise; and a brother, Ward Clise.
The Lewis, Hurley & Pietrobono Funeral Home, 51 Dietz St., Oneonta, is coordinating the arrangements. To share a condolence with the family, please visit www.lhpfuneralhome.com.

Dear Janet,
So sad to hear that Lois has passed. Both your parents were the warmest, kindest people...happy memories of the old days in Geneva at Aunt Dora's and visiting the family in Oneonta.Mom showed me pictures from a few yrs ago when you saw her in Geneva. She enjoyed your visit so much. She asked that we send you her love along with ours. Lois will live on in the hearts of all of us whose lives she touched.I know she's with your dad and Barbara and they will be your guardian angels always. Love and Prayers,

Dear Janet,
I have often wondered how your mom was. I was a student of your dad's in the 50's (one if my very favorite profs), and remember your mom as a sweet woman. When I settled in Oneonta, and helped turn the old Swart Wilcox House into a working museum, she was very supportive. I send my condolences to you.
