Margaret Doran Obituary
Born November 16, 1953 in Waterloo, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. Doran Sr. and Margaret Susan Doran (Moses). Margaret attended St. Mary's Elementary School and graduated from Waterloo High School. Following graduation, she proudly served in the U.S. Navy from January 25, 1974 to May 16, 1975 as a member of the Communications Corps earning the rank E3.
After her military service, Margaret was employed for many years with the Social Security Administration in Geneva, where she was known for her dedication and kindness.
She is survived by her life partner Steve Weber; her brother Thomas F. Doran Jr.; sister-in-law, Kathryn Doran; niece, Casey (Jason) Heatherly; great nephew Aidan Heatherly; and first cousin, Bernie (Pat) Doran.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by several beloved relatives.
Margaret had a love of animals and also enjoyed gardening.
There will be no calling hours.
A military service will be planned honoring Margaret next Summer (2026) in St. Mary's Cemetery, County Road 6, Geneva, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers consider a donation in Margaret's name to the Beverly Animal Shelter, 50 East River Street, Waterloo, N.Y., 13165.
