Marjorie A. "Marge" Cseplo

GREECE, N.Y./NEWARK - Marjorie "Marge" Cseplo, 83, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2021, in Greece, N.Y.

A funeral service will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (August 14) at the Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home 103 Maple Court in Newark, N.Y., followed by a private gathering for close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any charitable donations of remembrance be made to the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester or Foodlink.

Marge was born in Newark, N.Y., on July 9, 1938. She was raised by her parents Evelyn V. MacLaren and Gordon M. MacLaren in Wayne County. As a student, she attended the Rochester General School of Nursing from 1956 to 1959, where she became a member of its first-ever graduating class. After that, Marge enjoyed an accomplished nursing career working in multiple hospitals across the country. She spent time at Rochester General (ER and orthopedics), Anderson School in Indiana (labor and delivery), and Ventura County Hospital in California. Upon completing her education at the prestigious Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, Marge returned to Wayne County, where she was proud to be a public health nurse for more than a decade.

Marge retired at age 54 from Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) in Canandaigua, where she was a nursing instructor. While retired, she was a devoted member of the Park Presbyterian Church in Newark, even serving as a deacon for some time. Marge continued her nursing legacy through her years of participation in the Nurses' Health Study, which launched in 1976 and remains ongoing to this day. She was also a volunteer at the Newark Public Library and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Amongst her various achievements, becoming a breast cancer survivor in 2012 was a memorable triumph.

Marge will be remembered as a most avid reader and lover of words. She could often be found absorbed in a mystery novel or completing a crossword puzzle. Her heart was always happiest at home, where she cooked meals with fruits and vegetables from the garden and tended to her perennial flowers. Marge and her husband, Pal, enjoyed traveling together as well as frequenting flea markets where she searched for treasures to add to her extensive perfume bottle collection.

Anyone who knew Marge will remember her as the most dedicated wife and mother. She was a kind woman known for doing more for others than she ever did for herself. With a nurturing and charitable soul, she always cared for family members in need and gave to causes in which she believed. She never missed a chance to brag about her five beautiful granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.

Marge leaves to cherish her memory her two children Jeff Cseplo of Rochester and Virginia (Mark) Eberle of Buffalo; granddaughters April (Shawn) Diehl of Marion, Sarah (Michael) DeFranco of Palmyra, Samantha (Brandon DeBaere) Cseplo of Sodus, Hannah Eberle and Bella Eberle of Buffalo; great-grandchildren Evelyn and Mason Diehl; as well as her brothers Lee (Charlotte) MacLaren of Newark and Tom (Mindy) MacLaren of Penfield.
