Michael A. Chambers

GENEVA - Michael A. Chambers, age 72, of 20 Sprucewood Lane, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday (April 24, 2023).

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday (April 28) at Covert Funeral Home, 7199 Main Street in Ovid. A funeral service will then be held at 12 noon, followed by prayers of committal in Ovid Union Cemetery.

Born on July 8, 1950 in Geneva, Mike was a son of the late Russell T. and Elizabeth A. (nee Ball) Chambers. He was a 1968 graduate of Romulus High School and received his degree in engineering from SUNY Delhi. He worked in the nuclear power industry for Niagara Mohawk at Nine Mile Point in Oswego and for Constellation at Ginna Power Plant in Ontario. Following his retirement, he worked at Lowe's in Waterloo.

Mike was very much a family man. He enjoyed attending family gatherings, cook outs, sporting events and anything that involved being with the people that he loved. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren and participated in their functions.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Caroline; his children, Joseph (Don Alford) Marino of Clearwater, Fla., Michelle (Stacy McIntyre) Marino of Rochester, Misty (Anthony Lewis) Chambers of Rochester and Brian (Ashley) Chambers of Geneva; his grandchildren, Jaden and Kobe Lewis, Megan and Laurn Chambers; his siblings, Thomas (Sandi) Chambers of Eagle Point, Ore., Carol (John) Myers of Geneva, Sharon (Reed) Balewski of Waterloo, Linda (David) Turner of Geneva; and a host of nieces and nephews.
