Mildred Dewey Converse

1921 - 2022

CLIFTON SPRINGS - Mildred Dewey Converse, age 101, passed away peacefully on Tuesday (November 1, 2022).

In keeping with her wishes there will be no prior calling hours.

A Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, (December 3rd) at the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Shortsville, N.Y.

Mildred was born August 23, 1921 in Clifton Springs, the daughter of the late Charles and Anna DuBois Dewey. She a graduate of Clifton Springs High school, where she took many business courses. Milly represented her high school as Apple Blossom Queen. She married her friend and high school sweet heart, Henry Converse. Milly worked at Garlock Packing Company as a desk clerk during the war and later working for the Merchandiser in Clifton Springs. She and her husband managed the Converse Feed and Farm Supply Store in Canandaigua. In 1970 Milly and her husband, Henry, founded Townline Machine Company. She never lost touch with this company as several of her grandchildren also became involved. Milly was a very busy women. She was a member of the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church, belonged to the Clifton Springs Grange, Home Demonstration Club, the Midlakes Garden Club and the Caring and Sharing Group.

Milly will be sadly missed by her children, Bonnie (Bud) Farnsworth, Clifford (Monica) Henry Converse, Edythe Kay (Ted) DeVoe, and Ronald Scott (Sherry) Converse; grandchildren, Suzamie Farnsworth, Letitia DeVoesick, Zac DeVoe, Gabe Converse, Ben Converse, Michael Converse, and Patrick Converse; several great grandchildren.

Milly is predeceased by her husband, Henry Converse in 1997.
