Nancy Dunton Obituary
A Celebration of Her Life will be begin at 11 a.m. with a service at 12 noon on Saturday (November 13), with a reception to follow at the family home, 1700 Welker Road, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837.
Nancy was born September 23, 1955, in Penn Yan, N.Y., the daughter of the late Clayton R. and Betty J. (MacDougal) Miller. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1973. On October 3, 1980, in Barrington, N.Y., she married Howard L. Dunton. After raising her family she returned to her education, receiving her Master's Degree from Keuka College in 1990. Nancy was a Social Worker for Yates County, retiring after 20 years in 2010. She was a member of the Dundee United Methodist Church, and was involved with the Dundee Children's Center in the past.
A Wonderful Grandmother, she is survived by her husband of 40 years, Howard L. Dunton at home; a daughter, Ari (Nick) DeVries of Bloomfield, N.Y.; a son, Jerod (Sarah) Dunton of Barrington; three grandchildren, Marlie Dunton, Owen Dunton, and baby Wyatt DeVries; a brother, Dewey Miller of Dundee and Florida; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
